Explore Chefchaouen with a local guide, then enjoy free time in its blue-painted lanes and small squares. Set against the Rif Mountains, the medina is a pleasant place to discover neighbourhood shops, local crafts and everyday life. Walk around Uta El Hammam Square and toward Ras El Ma, where water flows at the edge of town. Your guide shares local stories and helps you explore beyond the popular photo spots. There is time for a café break and browsing without any obligation to shop.

If you wish, follow the uphill path toward the Spanish Mosque viewpoint for views over the town. This walk depends on your mobility and the weather. An Akchour outing can be arranged as an alternative programme, with its walking requirements confirmed in advance.

Travel south from the Rif Mountains to Volubilis for a visit with a licensed local guide. This UNESCO-listed archaeological site preserves streets, homes and public monuments from a city that flourished under Roman rule. Discover surviving mosaic floors and the remains of the basilica, Capitol and triumphal arch. Your guide explains how these buildings served public life and how farming supported the city’s prosperity. The site has exposed, uneven paths, so comfortable shoes, water and sun protection are useful. Continue through Meknes for a short introduction to the imperial city if timing allows, with a lunch break along the way. Arrive in Fes and settle in for two nights.

Discover Fes with a licensed guide, exploring its medina as a living neighbourhood as well as a historic city. Narrow lanes connect food markets, traditional workshops and places of learning. Selected visits can include Bou Inania Madrasa, a religious school admired for carved cedar, decorative plasterwork and geometric tilework. At Nejjarine Square, see the decorated fountain and learn about the merchants and craftspeople who shaped the city.

Workshop visits and tannery viewpoints can be included according to your interests; smells around the tanneries can be strong, and shopping is optional. We can also introduce the former Jewish quarter and view the Royal Palace gates from outside. Religious interiors have access restrictions. Leave Fes for a full day of changing landscapes on the road to Merzouga. Travel through the Middle Atlas and pause in Ifrane, known for its mountain setting and distinctive architecture. This is one of the longest transfer days, so your driver plans suitable comfort and photo stops.

Near Azrou, the cedar forests offer a different view of Morocco. Barbary macaques may be seen, but sightings are not guaranteed. Observe them from a distance without feeding or touching them. Continue toward Midelt, where there is time for a lunch break.

As the journey continues through the Ziz Valley, mountain scenery gives way to palm groves and drier landscapes. Arrive near the Erg Chebbi dunes and settle into your desert hotel. A hotel night before the camp gives you time to rest after the drive.

Enjoy a Sahara 4×4 excursion around the Erg Chebbi area after breakfast. Visit Khamlia for an introduction to Gnawa music, with other stops chosen for the day’s conditions and your interests. A tea visit with a local family may be arranged when hosts are available; visits respect their privacy and daily routine. Lunch is included on the excursion.

Later, take a camel ride among the dunes before your camp stay, with timing arranged around the conditions. A vehicle transfer is available if you prefer not to ride. ATV and buggy outings are optional extras, with the price and arrangements confirmed separately.

Settle into your selected desert camp and enjoy dinner. Depending on the weather and camp programme, the evening may include music and time outdoors under the stars. Your proposal confirms the tent category and facilities.

If you wish, rise early to watch the light change over the dunes before breakfast. Sunrise viewing depends on the weather. Leave the desert behind and continue toward Rissani and the landscapes of southern Morocco.

Along the way, pause for views and comfort breaks as the road passes dry plains, villages and palm-filled valleys. Around Tinghir, the oasis contrasts with the surrounding rocky slopes. Your driver keeps stops balanced with the journey rather than adding a long list of shopping visits.

At Todra Gorge, take a gentle walk beneath the high limestone walls, with time for lunch nearby. Continue to Dades Valley and settle into your accommodation. This 14-day route includes one night here; guests wanting a separate guided Dades hiking day can consider our 15-day journey.

Travel through the landscapes of the Rose Valley and the Skoura area toward Ouarzazate. This is a scenic transfer day, so we keep the main focus on Ait Ben Haddou and the mountain crossing. A film-studio or additional kasbah visit can be discussed if it fits your interests and available time.

Explore Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed fortified settlement built in earth. Walk through its lanes and learn how clustered houses and defensive walls shaped life here. Its architecture and setting are the main attraction; the village has also appeared in many films. The uphill sections and uneven steps can be adapted to your mobility.

After a lunch break, cross the High Atlas through the Tizi n’Tichka pass, with photo stops where practical, before reaching Marrakech. We plan an early departure and daytime travel for this long leg.

Explore Marrakech with a licensed guide, combining selected monuments with the medina’s markets and everyday life. Begin with the exterior of Koutoubia Mosque and learn about the minaret that has become a landmark of the city. The mosque’s interior is not a general tourist visit.

Depending on your interests and access, selected visits can include Bahia Palace, known for its courtyards and Moroccan decoration, and the Saadian Tombs, admired for their intricate craftsmanship. We confirm the chosen monuments in your proposal rather than promising every major attraction in one day. Majorelle Gardens can be arranged separately with advance booking where required.

Continue through the souks to see traditional crafts and reach Jemaa El Fna, where the atmosphere changes through the day. Enjoy time for lunch and café breaks, with shopping entirely optional. Your guide adapts the walking pace and route to you.

Travel from Marrakech to Imlil in the High Atlas for mountain views and an introduction to Amazigh village life. Meet your local walking guide and agree a route suited to your fitness, interests and the weather. Paths may pass hillside homes, terraces and orchards, with some uneven ground and uphill sections. A gentler outing with more time for views can be arranged. This excursion does not include a Mount Toubkal summit ascent.

Enjoy a local lunch before returning to Marrakech. Bring comfortable walking shoes, water, sun protection and a layer for cooler mountain weather. We confirm the walking length when planning your day, and weather or road conditions may require changes. If you prefer a rest day, free time in Marrakech can replace the excursion, with service changes agreed in your proposal.

Leave Marrakech for Essaouira on the Atlantic coast. After arrival, discover the medina with a local guide, walking through lanes lined with workshops, galleries and small shops. The city’s fortified seafront and trading history give it a different character from Morocco’s inland cities. Explore the harbour area and viewpoints along the ramparts, with access dependent on local conditions. Watch the fishing boats and enjoy time for lunch, perhaps choosing seafood at a restaurant recommended by your guide. The afternoon can include a café break, browsing crafts or a walk beside the beach. Coastal winds can be strong, so a light layer is useful even when inland temperatures are warm.

Enjoy breakfast and a final stroll in Essaouira before travelling to the city chosen for your departure. If you fly from Marrakech, return inland and settle into your hotel for the final night. For a Casablanca departure, allow a longer transfer and leave Essaouira earlier so the journey remains comfortable. We confirm the final city and hotel before booking, based on your flight schedule. Free time depends on the route and arrival time; we avoid promising sightseeing after a long drive. This overnight keeps the main transfer separate from your flight day.

Your private Morocco journey ends with a transfer to Marrakech or Casablanca Airport, as agreed in your itinerary. Your driver arranges the pickup time around your flight and the journey from your hotel. If you have a later departure, you may have time for a relaxed breakfast or a short outing, subject to checkout and transfer arrangements.
