Expect some uneven surfaces and possible uphill sections; this is a valley walk rather than a technical mountain climb. Comfortable shoes with grip, sun protection and drinking water are recommended. Enjoy a picnic lunch and time to take in the scenery before returning to your accommodation. The afternoon is free to relax. A shorter walk or a scenic local outing can replace the longer route, allowing everyone to enjoy the valley at a comfortable pace.

Travel through southern Morocco’s valley landscapes toward Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou. At Ait Ben Haddou, explore the UNESCO-listed ksar, a group of earthen buildings enclosed by defensive walls. Its towers, narrow passages and hillside setting offer an introduction to the architecture of the region.

Walk through the village with time to notice how earth, wood and traditional building methods shape the houses and shared spaces. Reaching the upper viewpoints involves steps and uneven uphill paths; a shorter visit is possible if you prefer. After breakfast, leave Marrakech for Essaouira on the Atlantic coast. Arrive in time to settle into the slower rhythm of this seaside town, with a guided introduction followed by time to explore independently.

Essaouira’s UNESCO-listed medina is known for its fortified coastal setting and trading history. Walk through its lanes and squares, see the harbour area and admire the sea-facing ramparts from accessible viewpoints. Your local guide explains how maritime trade and different cultural influences helped shape the town. Any paid monument interiors are confirmed in your proposal.

Enjoy free time for a café stop, a seafood lunch or browsing small workshops and galleries. The beach offers space for a relaxed walk, although the coast can be windy, so a light extra layer is useful. Return to Marrakech or continue to Casablanca, according to your flight arrangements and confirmed proposal. The Casablanca option involves a longer journey, so we allow time for comfortable breaks and avoid adding a full sightseeing programme to the transfer. We plan the road journey in daylight.

On arrival, settle into your accommodation and enjoy your final evening in Morocco. If your flight leaves early the next morning, we can discuss a location that makes the airport transfer easier.
