Morocco in 9 Days: Two Nights in the Sahara, Fes & Marrakech
Nine days give you something shorter tours cannot: a full day in the Sahara. Arrive in Casablanca and spend a first night in Rabat, the calm capital by the sea. Visit Roman Volubilis on the way to Fes, and explore its medina with a private guide. Then cross the Middle Atlas to the dunes of Erg Chebbi for two nights at the same desert camp, with a 4×4 outing to Khamlia and a sunset camel ride in between.
Because you stay two nights in the dunes, there is no packing and no rush on your desert day. The way west is broken by a night in Skoura, so no drive after the Sahara runs much past five hours, and Fes and Marrakech both have two nights. Depending on the package you choose, you stay in high-end 4-star and 5-star hotels and riads, in boutique 5-star riads, or in the finest properties at each stop, with a luxury camp in the dunes.
