The best Morocco itinerary starts with your time, interests and preferred pace. A short trip can focus on Marrakech and nearby landscapes; a longer private journey can connect imperial cities, the Sahara and the Atlantic coast. Use these route ideas to choose how much to include, then let our team adapt the details around your flights.
7 days: Marrakech, the Atlas and a focused route

With one week, choose the experiences that matter most. A Marrakech-based route can combine the city with the High Atlas and Essaouira, leaving time to enjoy each stop. If the Sahara is your priority, allow several days for the outward journey, a desert stay and the return; the drive crosses mountains and valleys and should not be treated as a quick excursion.
For our luxury private tours in Morocco, we recommend balancing sightseeing with two-night stays where possible. A private driver makes the route flexible, while licensed local guides bring context to historic cities. Tell us your arrival time before adding sightseeing on the first day.
10 days: imperial cities and the Sahara

Ten days allows a broader route between Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, the Erg Chebbi dunes, the Dades Valley and Marrakech. Chefchaouen can fit some itineraries, but adds road time. If the blue city is essential, compare the pace carefully or add nights.
Casablanca is a practical arrival point and home to Hassan II Mosque. Morocco’s four imperial cities are Rabat, Meknes, Fes and Marrakech; Casablanca is not an imperial city. Plan guided city walks and allow daylight for mountain and desert drives. A one-way arrival and departure can reduce backtracking.
12 days: add time in the north

Twelve days gives more room for Chefchaouen, a longer stay in Fes, or an additional night in Marrakech. Rather than adding a new hotel every day, use the extra time to enjoy a medina walk, an artisan visit or a relaxed meal.
A northern start from Tangier works well for travelers who want Chefchaouen early in the trip. From Casablanca, the sequence can be adjusted around your flights. Volubilis and Meknes can be considered between Rabat and Fes, with realistic time for visits rather than a succession of rushed stops.
14–15 days: explore at a gentler pace

Two weeks is a useful starting point for combining the north, imperial cities, Sahara and an Atlantic stop. You still need to choose: distances are long and a map can make travel look quicker than it feels. Ask for overnight locations and approximate driving times before booking.
Marrakech rewards several nights, allowing a guided medina visit, gardens, restaurants and time at your accommodation. The Sahara is more comfortable with time to enjoy both sunset and sunrise rather than arriving late and leaving immediately. Desert camps vary in access, bathroom facilities and seasonal comfort.
Choose riads and hotels around your needs

The accommodation is part of the journey. A traditional riad may have stairs, a courtyard layout and an approach on foot through the medina. A larger hotel can offer easier vehicle access and different facilities. Let us know about ground-floor rooms, lifts, bed sizes and mobility requirements before selecting properties.
Read our guides to riads in Morocco and riads in Fes for inspiration. Our luxury package begins with selected four-star to basic five-star hotels or similar riads; the confirmed proposal identifies the properties and room categories for your dates.
Add the coast without rushing the journey

Essaouira is a natural choice when you want an Atlantic stay after Marrakech. Other coastal stops may suit a different route, but they should be chosen for the overall itinerary. The coast offers a change of pace, with harbor walks, seafood and time to relax.
Our private Morocco tours are tailored around your interests, flights and preferred pace. Tell our team your dates, group size and priorities, and we will prepare a route with accommodations, private transport, guided visits and the inclusions clearly set out. Plan your private journey.
Which Morocco route suits your travel style?
For a first visit, choose one experience you would most regret missing: Fes and its craftsmanship, the blue streets of Chefchaouen, a night near the Sahara dunes, or a longer Marrakech stay. Build the route around that priority, then add places that connect naturally. This approach produces a more personal journey than trying to fit every famous destination into a week.
Couples may prefer a balance of guided mornings and relaxed afternoons; families often benefit from fewer hotel changes and breaks on travel days. Travelers interested in photography may want extra time in the desert or mountains. Compare our 8-day private Morocco tour with the 15-day Morocco journey. Both are starting points: the route, arrival city, hotels, and activities can be adapted to your group.
