Turkey in 12 Days: Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesus, Pamukkale & Bodrum
This journey takes in the full sweep of a first visit to Turkey and finishes with time by the sea. You begin in Istanbul with its imperial mosques, Topkapi Palace and the Bosphorus, then fly to Cappadocia for three nights of balloons, cave churches and wide valley views. A second flight brings you to the Aegean for Ephesus, a drive inland takes you to the white terraces of Pamukkale, and the last days are spent in Bodrum, with its castle, harbor and long, easy lunches.
Every base has at least two nights except Pamukkale, which is best seen at sunset and early morning anyway. Flights replace the long crossing of central Anatolia, road days stay at about three hours with a lunch stop, and free afternoons come every few days. Depending on the package you choose, you stay in high-end 4-star hotels and cave hotels, or in some of the finest 5-star, boutique and seaside properties in Turkey.
