Egypt in 9 Days: The Pyramids, a Nile Cruise & Ancient Thebes
Nine days that show you the very best of Egypt, at a gentle pace. Stand before the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx with your own Egyptologist, then spend the afternoon with Tutankhamun’s treasures at the Grand Egyptian Museum next door. A short flight takes you south to Luxor and a carefully chosen Nile cruise. For four nights the river carries you past palm groves and mud-brick villages to Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Philae, before you fly back to Cairo for its old quarters.
This is our classic first journey to Egypt, built so that every big day of sightseeing is balanced by quiet hours on deck or by the hotel pool. Domestic flights replace the long road journeys, you never see more than two major sites in a day, and your guide plans visits around the cooler hours. You have two nights in Cairo at each end and four on the river, so there is very little packing. Depending on the package you choose, you stay in high-end 4-star hotels and a premium cruise ship, or in some of the finest 5-star properties and boats on the Nile.
