Egypt in 7 Days: The Pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum & Luxor
A week that gives you the two places every first visit to Egypt needs. Spend three nights in Cairo for the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and the Step Pyramid at Saqqara, with a calm morning at the Grand Egyptian Museum. Then fly south to Luxor for Karnak, Luxor Temple at dusk, the painted tombs of the Valley of the Kings and the terraces of Hatshepsut’s temple, before a short flight back to Cairo for your last night.
The pace is gentle for a week in Egypt. Short domestic flights replace the long road south, each base has two or three nights, and there is a free afternoon in Cairo to rest or wander. Sightseeing starts early to beat the heat and ends with time at the hotel. Depending on the package you choose, you stay in high-end 4-star hotels or in some of the finest 5-star properties in Egypt, including a hotel on the Nile in Luxor.
