Turkey in 14 Days: Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesus, Pamukkale & the Turquoise Coast
Two weeks to see Turkey properly, from its great capital to the pine-covered bays of the south. Istanbul comes first, with Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and an afternoon on the Bosphorus. A short flight takes you to Cappadocia for a balloon flight at sunrise and the painted churches of Göreme, and a second flight brings you to the Aegean for Ephesus. From there you travel inland to the terraces of Pamukkale and then down to the Turquoise Coast around Fethiye for four nights by the sea.
The pace slows as the journey goes on. You spend three nights in each of the first two bases, then four at the end on the coast, with a whole free day and two gentle half days among ancient Lycian sites and quiet beaches. Two flights cover the long distances, and no drive is longer than about three and a half hours. Depending on the package you choose, you stay in high-end 4-star hotels and cave hotels, or in some of the finest 5-star, boutique and seaside properties in Turkey.
