Italy in 7 Days: Rome, Florence & the Chianti Hills
A week built around the two cities every first trip to Italy should include. Spend three nights in Rome for the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Vatican with its Sistine Chapel, all with your own guide. Then take the fast train to Florence for Michelangelo’s David, the cathedral dome, a cooking class with dinner and a day in the Chianti hills, with a long lunch at a country restaurant and an afternoon in Siena. It is a short trip, but it gives you the heart of classical and Renaissance Italy.
The pace is easy. You stay three nights in each city, so you unpack only twice, and the single transfer is a fast train of about an hour and a half with private transfers at both ends. Guided visits fill the mornings and most afternoons are left free for cafés, shopping or rest. Depending on the package you choose, you stay in high-end 4-star hotels or in some of the finest 5-star properties in Rome and Florence, close to the historic centers.
