Jordan Itinerary 8 Days

It starts the moment you touch down at either Queen Alia International Airport or Amman’s international airport and be met by a guide and driver who will take you to the hotel that has been booked for you. Amman is also the capital city of Jordan and is a place that seems to be most developed and yet where a great deal of history can still be discovered.

Furthermoren, for people, who have long layovers, they can walk around the city, spend some time in a café or go for some shopping in local markets if the flying timetable implies that, of course. Amman is most historical but at the same time alive with modern culture, therefore it is a great first stop to your Jordanian experience.

• Overnight in Amman.

The next activity will be, after breakfast, a visit to Jerash, one of the most incredible preserved Roman cities in Italy. Some of them are Hadrian’s Arch, Oval Plaza, and the Temple of Artemis and those fantastic ancient construction makes Jerash famous as growing number of people call it “Pompeii of the East.” A walk through the small streets of the city will push you back into the Roman Empire in its hay days.

Then, after sightseeing in Jerash our tour will head back to Amman and take a city tour. After visiting the Amman Citadel, where visitors are allowed to take photographs of the city below as well as the Roman Theater. End the day by just walking around some of the local markets in Amman and grab some local tasty bites.

• Overnight in Amman.

Today your destination is south, to start with, Madaba known as the “City of Mosaics”. You will visit the LDS Book, the Monastery of St.John, Map of Madaba and the mosaic map the most importance is sixth A.D.

Furthermore, after that, you will proceed to Mount Nebo which is a biblical site that Moses used to see the promised land up to the time he died. To the top, it is visible great views of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Carrying on south, you will visit Kerak to see the imposing castle with associated hotels that of great historical importance in the crusader period. At night you will be in Petra, which will prepare you for the next day’s experience.

• Overnight in Petra.

Today is devoted to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World – the simply stunning city of Petra. Then following breakfast, you will be taken to the narrow opening of the Siq and the highlight of the site, the Treasury (Al-Khazneh).

Deep within Petra you will find the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs and finally the Roman theatre. For an extra bit of thrill try climbing up to the Monastery or Ad-Deir, for great vantage points of Mount Sinai and the surrounding mountain ranges. Each part of Petra is an interesting story about the ancient Nabatean civilization and you will have a full day exploring this marvelous place.

• Overnight in Petra.

After breakfast, you are free to walk around Petra and in the afternoon leave the ‘rose red city half as old as time’ for the extraordinary Wadi Rum desert. Also known as the Valley of the Moon, Wadi Rum boasts sandstone cliffs, red sand dunes and rocks with two thousand-year-old paintings which places it among the most beautiful areas of Jordan.

Next, you will go for an adventurous 4x4 jeep safari over the desert and visit the highlights as the Seven Pillars of Wisdom and the Khazali Canyon. When the sun goes down the network of stars above the desert, you will have Bedouin dinner, and take stay in Bedouin tents for the night.

• Overnight in a luxury desert camp in Wadi Rum.

the sixth day of your Jordan itinerary 8 days will start with a sunrise on the desert before proceeding to Aqaba, the nearest seaport city to the Red Sea in Jordan. However, in Aqaba, you will get time to sunbatan on the beach or have a water experience like swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving or better still when in a boat, appreciate the beauty of the coral gardens via the bottom of the boat. The shores of Aqaba, exceptionally clean water and a crowded marina combine to create a relaxing day. Subsequently, visit some of the city’s active markets or, preferably, savour delicious seafood in any foods eating joint.

• Overnight in Aqaba.

You will depart from Aqaba and head for the Dead Sea, which is the lowest point on the surface of the earth. Blessed with therapeutic salts and minerals, the Dead Sea is famous for buoyancy, very different from any of our swimming encounters. Also available is a body healthy mud bath that is believed to be effective in the healing of the skin. It is advisable to spend the rest of the day lying and sunbathing along the Dead Sea coast and admiring the marvelous μοvement around.

• Overnight at the Dead Sea.

For your last day you will have a leisurely morning floating on the Dead Sea. Depending on flight timings there would be time for the last swim or to do some shopping and after you would be transferred to Amman international airport for departure. Leaving Jordan you will go with pleasant memories of its historic places, its culture, its landscapes, and its people.
